This specimen shows only moderate surface detractions: holster buffing at places on its surface small amounts of scouring on the lower frame and trigger guard edges. Its weight and balance with center of gravity at the trigger make it one of the most pleasant and user friendly firearms ever. Grips are original issue factory S&W Goncalo Magna type service grips. Frame type is K, medium frame with round butt smooth surface grip frame. Sights are fixed notch rear and serrated ramp front sight with wide rib on the heavy barrel. 38 Special and rated for +P loads 2 inch heavy barrel entire stainless steel construction with satin stainless. Specs on this revolver are traditional double and single action caliber. The Model 64 is based on the Model 10 and began production in 1970. Here is a real find, as far as we are concerned a Smith & Wesson numbered model 64, Second Engineering Change / 64-2, The Model 64 is only the second stainless steel revolver made by S&W, the first being the Model 60. Smith and Wesson Model 25-5 revolver chambered in 45 Long Colt. Smith & Wesson 25-5 Revolver, 45 Long Colt, 4' Barrel, Blued, Used, S&W. Features blued finish, and a mix of round butt or square butt. Two inch Model 64s have historically held their value and appreciated considerably over the years, due to the comparatively sparse number of them ever issued to begin with. Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver chambered in 38 Special, with no barrel. That is not true about the 2 inch Round Butt Grip Frame variant. 38 M&P SP Stainless has always been one of the most plentiful revolvers on the market in its standard 4 inch Heavy Barrel configuration.
